Catherston Dazzle was the leading British Event Sire according to the World Breeding Federation Rankings 2000. Not only was he ranked 6th in the world but he was the youngest stallion and had the most progeny competing internationally. By the World Bronze Medal Winning dressage horse Dutch Courage, out of the advanced event mare Welton Gazelle, Catherston Dazzler carries two of the most influential performance lines available to the serious breeder.

Perhaps the most exciting Event Sire in the country today, Catherston Dazzler’s progeny have competed successfully at the Sydney Olympics, Badminton, Burghley and Rome in 2000. In recognition of him being one of the worlds leading sires of 3 and 4 star eventers and for his own performances in the dressage arena, The Supporters of British Breeding presented him with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002.

Catherston Dazzler is one of the most talented horses of his time. He has the swing and elasticity so essential to make a top class horse in any sphere and is passing these qualities on to his offspring. He has 734 dressage points, has represented Great Britain at Grand Prix level both at home and abroad. Catherston Dazzler also competed successfully in Eventing being placed 2nd and 4th at Borough Court and Tweseldown Horse Trials 1991. In 1988 and 1989 he won the Masterlock Recruitment Potential Competition Horse Championships as well as taking the prize for Best Potential Show Jumper each time.

Catherston Dazzler’s sire is the legendary World Bronze Medal winning dressage horse Dutch Courage, who is the most influential sire of competition horses in Great Britain including international dressage horses Dutch Gold, Catherston Dutch Bid and Catherston Dazzler, and the show jumper Clog Dancer, the Asian High Jump Record Holder at 7’2½” in Japan and Dutch Treat, International Eventer, who was short listed for the Sydney Olympics 2000.

His dam, the advanced event mare, Welton Gazelle, is also the dam of Summer Song – Silver Medal World Equestrian Games 1998. She is by Welton Gameful and is full sister to Welton Louis, advanced eventer and dressage horse and a leading sire of eventers including Aloaf, Welton Chitchat, Welton Fairgame, Lou Llewelyn, Welton Ambassador and Welton Romance, European Champion.
